Junior is coming home!
Ken Griffey Jr is coming back to the Seattle Mariners! There is actually a ray of sunshine in this (yet another) building year..er decade ;)
Yes he's old.. yes he's coming off knee surgery... but he's still coming home.

Regardless of age he is a great player. Growing up in Vancouver, Seattle was my team due to the fact we didn't have real sports in Canada except hockey.

Chances are they are still going to suck, but getting to go see Griffey gives me a reason to buy some tickets and drive the 180 miles up there for a few weekends this summer. I am very happy. I think he might have a decent year, but with him and Sweeney (if he makes the team in spring training) they will have a couple of top notch character guys to help cement the team.
Safeco is the house that Junior built. It is only fitting he ends his career playing in it. |
