It doesn't get any better than Salesforce.com

I wouldn't have been able to make my way into mainstream design and development without it.

worked with salesforce over the last couple of years with the previous company I was with. If you are looking for a CRM that has just about everything... salesforce would be the crm of choice

The question is what do you want to use it for ?

If its just you then Act is good but if you have a group of people then look at SalesForce or SugarCRM

I'll look into this one when I have a few moments.

Salesforce.com is pretty good. I've used it before.

Salesforce is a great solution and its hosted. I also like Microsoft CRM very much and it integrates well with other platforms and products you may be using on your back end, especially if you are a Microsoft shop. ACT is decent as well.

The biggest thing about using a CRM for the first time is your business process. Find the solution that maps to your business process with the least amount of configuration/customization out of the box. That will be the one to go with IMO.
