I don't use tabs, and I've disabled the "group similar applications together in taskbar" feature. Each browser instance shows up separately in the taskbar.

Currently there are 63 apps showing in the task bar, I'd say about 40-45 of those are a browser window...

I can attest that once you get over around 200 tabs open it stops being useable, verrrrry slow.

A trick some of you may not know.. If you hold down CTRL and click a link, it will open in a new tab but keep you on the page.. So if you want to open 20 links in a row from a page, you can just hold ctrl and click them all.

18 right now, a few months ago IE 7 kept crashing when i had a large number of tabs open. IE has been pretty solid recently.

This has been an eye opening thread.

After some number crunching here are the results:

Low end average = 20 tabs
High end average = 23 tabs

Most in one browser - 263
Runners up - 95 & 72

Verdict: Most of us are tab whores. Including my paltry ten. If I didn't have an iMac there is no way I'd be up at ten. If I can't read the tab info then forget it.
