my blacklabelads experiment

SO I've been running my dating site banner via blacklabel ads to men & women in the USA and I did an equal run of .10 CPC & .10 CPM the CPM won out after a day and I've been constantly removing sites that are expensive.

#1. I click on the sites that are delivering expensive traffic, if they have TONS of other banners on them and you're doing CPM you need to pause them asap. Bottom line is CPM on a site with tons of competition for your impression is worthless.

#2. I need to go back and turn on my CPC and just nuke the ones that are expensive, too, assuming my ad can out perform on sites with tons of ads there could be some maximizing there.

I'm getting .05 to .06/click and of course its not translating into a single penny, just tire kickers. Its delivering 1000 clicks a day with the tiny test budget I set.

Anyone with a dating site think they can actually make me any $ with that? I'll just use my same banner and link it via your affiliate prog.

I've played with CPC / CPM a while ago vs organic traffic, it was even more expensive a while back, now I think a lot of the branding $ is out of it, but it sucks to just flush $ testing places like blacklabel. I think we're going to approach a time here where advertising $ is few and far between and these traffic outlets will be forced to CPA and really work hard to make US $ rather than themselves.

ha no thanks. I guess blacklabel ads never expected someone with too much time on their hands to go through and look at all the sites that are stealing my pennies

Really 99% of blacklabel ads sites in my CPM campaign are total shit. Either they are in some foreign language even though I selected United States in my targeting or they are essentially the SAME WEBSITE. There are a few traffic skrews I've been picking up on. #1 Is that a site will have multiple blacklabel ads placements so basically you're getting AT LEAST double billed if not quadruple on some to have your ad appear on the same page. I notice that when I'm clicking PAUSE on them they'll be listed more than once if not a dozen times... #2. the majority of these sites all load the same content, they are just skins with some nasty xvideo content that is stuff that I'd think would be illegal, simulated rape, etc. #3. pretty much all of them have pop unders / and so many ads on them running a CPM campaign is worthless. #4. Nearly all of them are tube/video sites that link to the SAME content on another site or load it in frame. I think the ones that actually load the content on their page and don't redirect the surfer might be ok to keep advertisement on provided its legal content, but I have no way to tell. #5. despite there being 100s of sites BL will run my ad predominately on 1 site that is like a camelporn and it'll take up most of my daily budget before I can hit Pause.

There are definitely decent sites that use BLA, but I'd suggest advertising specifically on those sites rather than a broad approach and then hitting pause on ones that don't conform to your standards (as they suggest :cast a wide net and then real it in)

When you pick the sites you want to run ads on they juice you for like $2 a click. Maybe its less now that there is less competition. After I paused all the crap sites blacklabel doesn't even run my on any more of the scam sites. They emailed me back telling me that I should increase my bid on the sites that were giving me good CPM (which they aren't running me on any more) I really think the whole thing is a scam. The sites they ran me on are mostly just advertisements and not real sites. Why would I advertise on an advertisement. Well anyways I'm sure after my nasty email they killed the activity on my account because its not showing anywhere new when before it would eat up my daily budget on one crap site after another.

If I found a site that used blacklabel and had a reasonable CPC or CPM I would still use it, their interface is easy and ads get approved quickly. I really think most of these dating / webcam sites that use it are either A. just pissing away their profits B. have millions to spend on branding C. are just new affiliates trying to make a buck by spending rather than spamming/scamming (j/k)

Oh well. Hope this helps anyone who is interested in buying traffic on Blacklabel. Next up Google.......

Try JuicyAds.com

Their system is set up pretty good. You can browse through sites and pick the ones you're interested in. They have fixed rates too (not per click).
