Do you ever think about host not working?
If you own paysites and make money off them... Have you really thought about the time that host may no longer be there?
Ever tried to login to see your stats and the site was down... too much traffic? Really though... this is a business... seems like alot riding on someone elses success. |

Not when dealing with techiemedia.net and I know in my heart if something did happen they would be the first to do their best to make it up to me.
They also are very scalable so there is no damn reason you should not be seen from to much traffic unless of course your under a wide scale attack - even when that has happened they personally got a hold of me to assist. Heck even on more than one occasion when my average bandwidth doubled nearly instantly they got a hold of me to see if it was something they should look into. Once it was a password issue and the other time I had sold a site and the new owner was just pulling the entire site down. Though if your of the super worried type there are services and such that will monitor and text/call you if your site goes down etc.

You have the same problem with B&M biz. Shit can happen to your store. Some storefronts are better than others

You only really need to worry about those things if you are with some cheapie one man army type host. If you run any kind of a serious business I hope you are with a well known, honest, established host that actually has a staff. A 1 man army can't help you when there sleeping or taking a shit...LOL
![]() Just like aftershock media i also host with Techiemedia and because of that i can sleep well at night. They monitor all server 24/7 and typically catch and fix any major issues before i even know it happened. They also have a sweet back up option that backs up all my shit offsite and it's pretty cheap. ![]() |

Absolutely, your web site pretty much IS your company, and most webmasters
leave that entirely in the hands of someone else they've never met, which is a little scary. That's why when the Alphared fiasco happened we hurried to make Clonebox available. Though the admin interface hadn't been done at that time, Alphared webmasters and others who realized that their host might be next wanted to get their servers cloned immediately so they would be protected no matter what happened to their web host. With Clonebox, of course, your host's entire data center could explode and your customers would never know there was any problem at all.

of who went out of business. Look at posts from a year ago - Alphared was "all that" until they disappeared. My first server was with a company that had a great reputation until they stopped answering phone calls and emails one day after their data center went dark. We've seen what, FOUR major processors with good reputations disappear? Anybody else here remember when the most reputable company in all of adult was AdutltCheck? They were the most well known company in the industry, and very highly trusted, until one day they ripped off tens of thousands of webmasters. Alphared WILL happen again at some point. I'd bet that THIS YEAR one of the well known hosts will vanish completely. Just a few months ago, The Planet, a large data center home to many web hosts, went off line due to a fire. That was 9,000 servers. They did came back up partially a couple of days later and most servers were back on lie after a week, but who wants to be down for a few days even?
