Home Audio Guru's -- Got a few Q's for you
OK, so I'm moving and its time to upgrade the home audio system for my living room.
Are there any WIRELESS receivers and subs/satellite speakers? Whats something good quality, but not too pricey?

Audio experts love wires. I have a company that makes high end 1/4" and XLR cables for record engineering (I went to school for sound engineering). A good cable is worth it's weight in gold.
Don't buy monster, that shit sucks, it's a fucking scam. Low quality shit. The truth is there are a lot of options out there but if you're serious it'll cost you. if you need any help selecting speakers / receivers im sure we can help with that. I love: Axiom Speakers: AxiomAudio.com Great quality stuff, very flat to allow a true neutral experience without coloring. Great for music as well, flat speakers have superb clarity, thats why studio monitors are as flat as possible. Denon Receivers: if you're really serious id suggest the Denon AVR-2809CI, http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/4484.asp it's a top quality unit with great sound, suburb midrange and low end response and nice clear highs that don't sound brittle and thin / tinny. But thats if you wanna blow about $1500 on speakers (For the low end ones) and $1200 for a receiver. Not everybody does.

I'll need to upgrade my Denon receiver once I upgrade my tv for that setup. I've been happy with the Denon I have so I'll probably stick with that. Works nicely with my 5.1 setup I have right now.

You might be able to tuck the speaker wires under the baseboard. Or, pull up the carpet along the edges and tuck the wires and push carpet back on the tack strip.
Have a basement below the theater room? Drill down and run the wires under the floor and pop back up. Wall fishing... leave that to the pros.

Technically their IS wireless systems.
But you still have power cables and usually the sub needs to be directly connected to the receiver/amp.. But maybe even the sub is wireless now. All audio/home entertainment shops sell these name brand systems.. Audiophiles and wireless do not go. Monster Cables are over priced but they aren't crap.. Monster also has a high end brand.. Over priced but if you can get wholesale prices the quality is good. The more specialty brand wiring is better for installation reasons.. Monster tends to be thick and heavy and not easy to bend and hide.. People with EXTREMELY high end speakers and amps will notice a difference in wiring.. |

Be sure to put your sub in a corner. That alone can pretty much double your low end.
