Times like these if feels good to promote well established sponsors

Feels like bumpy times for a lot of the smaller sponsors these days. I am having to fight for some money from a couple smaller ones. Which is a shame because I like promoting the sites of smaller and newer sponsors some times. Particularly when I am trying to find micro niche sites. It is feeling a bit more risky now though. It has been ages since I had to worry about getting paid by sponsors when I sign up but that is starting to come into play with me.

As a result I am finding myself going back to my well established sponsors. Yes, I am talking about sponsors such as Max Cash but not just us. It feels like when I am building a hardcore site where it isn't too 'micro nichey' that I am reaching for the people that have paid me on time for years.

Anybody else find themselves doing the same sort of thing?

I can certainly respect that... My last girl friend could never work for a small company, it was too stressful for her. She felt safe in big corporate. She went from IBM to AG Edwards and liked it at that level. On the other hand, one of my best friends is a Venture Capitalist. He raises millions of dollars of other people's money to then invest in small companies that he feels he can help.

I have nothing against small companies and I guess just because somebody looks big doesn't mean that are any more secure. Just that in this period it is becoming more and more about established sponsors for me. They can be smaller because I still like dunking into some of the smaller sponsors for micro niche sites but they need to at least be established smaller sponsors for me now so that feel like I am not taking such a risk with my pay at the moment.

It's definitely a rocky period for smaller sponsors as there are declines on all fronts. Although, I would think that smaller sponsors, by virture of their size, would be able to turn on a dime in business terms and quickly take advantage of any profitable avenues that present themselves during this downward trend.

Nope.

The biggies are more likely to convert worse and fuck your surfers, old school style

There's a few "newer" programs that are plenty big that will run your surfers through the credit card gauntlet. (use the GFY search unless it's broken). But no payment at all is risk for sure with new programs. Nice to know if they flounder there will be guys waiting to snatch them up (same ones the love to charge members multiple times) and hopefully will make good on the payments.

Something not discussed is smaller quality programs might be more flexible to change. Less overhead and saturation. They would have less fat to trim that comes with a fast forced downsizing of a large business.

But being a lone gunman in this business you get to pick your poisons.

And why would you say that? With conversions, I get what you are saying but it isn't always true in my experience. Obviously I have the most knowledge of Max Cash here but I know our conversions are up and especially since we did the total revamp on Kara's a little bit back. The site may be very well established but it doesn't look stale so it is converting.

And as far as fucking surfers..nope for us anyway but I don't see how smaller sponsors can't do that.

In any case I wasn't knocking smaller..I said established. I have smaller sponsors that convert very well and pay me like clockwork too.

As I said, I am not just talking about Max Cash..I am talking established as a whole and if you have seen any threads this week you would see the one in particular that sparked this thread for me where I (and others) are dealing with getting our money out of an affiliate program that just messed us around.

Am I affiliated with Max Cash? Obviously. Does that mean I wasn't and am not an affiliate with them? No..as I said, been around since 1998 and most of us that were around then promoted Max Cash. Was I *just* talking about Max Cash? No which was clearly stated.

What are pudding pops? I miss a lot of food from the UK, although I do have an import store not far from me that has some of my favourite foods, like sausage rolls for example lol.

Pudding pops are American I would imagine, I think they are made by Jell-O. Have not had one since I was a kid but they were good!

Do they not sell them any more in the States? They were all the rage when I was a kid. They were basically frozen pudding (American pudding not UK cakey pudding) on a stick.

When the smaller programs use CCBill or Epoch, your payments will be at least as save as payments from bigger sponsors.

They used to do Jello pops too. Which were good but did have a weird texture when they melted sometimes.

Anyway, the reason Bill reminds me of them is he was the commercial face of them when I was a kid.

That, plus he makes me want to sing the picture pages song.

I totally agree with that..I use a *lot* of ccbill sponsors because I know I will get paid. Plus, a lot of great micro-niche sponsors use CCbill and that lets me have the confidence to try them out.

This thread is so full of bullshit.

Big sponsors suck, over saturated, many more reasons to fuck you.

Most small Micro Niche sponsors are with CCBill and YOU NEVER HAVE ANY PROBLEMS GETTING PAID BY CCBILL

So take this thread and shove it where the sun don't shine because it's TOTALLY BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!

Stick to your dumbass useless threads that you usually make.

Don't try and slander smaller companies.

If your not getting paid by smaller companies then they are not too small if they are in charge of their own payouts!

What sponsors fucked you for money?

I think as someone new in the industry I would rather find out which sponsors didn't pay you in the second paragraph then read a MaxCash plug. Everyone knows you guys are established lol so why keep telling us all that?

And again it isn't that small sponsors are bad..with doing micro niche stuff I have long been a supporter of small sponsors but these days for me to risk signing up for one they *have* to be ccbill for me to feel comfortable.

I could not agree with you less if I tried on this one.
Many big companies or established ones these days seem to be looking for creative ways not to pay.
But then again at the same time turn out cookie cutter garbage on mass, sending joins to outdated members areas and killing rebills.
I find many of the smaller programs work harder to make the sale and retain the meber not to mention they actually pick up the phone and answer Emails.
Sorry no disrespect on this one but I think your original statement was only self serving and not an observation.

Shortly after I started in adult, I made the decision to go revshare with what I judged to be quality companies instead of chasing PPS. At times, I've salivated over annoucements over big payout days, but looking back, especially with today's state of affairs, I made the right decision for me.

To this day, my primary promotional efforts center on a handful of companies, and while some of them are a little larger now (eg kinky dollars), they weren't when I started with them, and they are not some large, 100 site mega program.

My personal favorite sites to promote are niche ccbill sites. I'd promote them all day long. The only downside of some of those programs is getting access to content for gallery building.

And again it isn't that small sponsors are bad..with doing micro niche stuff I have long been a supporter of small sponsors but these days for me to risk signing up for one they *have* to be ccbill for me to feel comfortable.
Sarah you said a couple of small ones, you've only named one, which is the other?

I think it's also doing a great service to let people know which sponsors are not paying....

Yeah, I just get fucking tired of the bullshit.

Title went from "well established sponsors", to "smaller sponsors" in the post. What a crock of shit!

I'm not afraid to voice my opinion. I could give a fuck about the "Bro Club" and doing cross sells with them and fucking SEO spammers clogging up Google with the highest scammy PPS sponsors they can find that fuck customers with cross sells and all the other bullshit.

Fuck them all!

Cheers,
BV
