At $20 they're still ahead considering they make millions of shoes for dirt cheap in Vietnam. Even factoring in the millions of dollars in athlete endorsements, Nike is still raking in $$$

Then everyone knows as you mentioned their markups that they do. Plus we all know that if Nike became super cheap or anything to drop their lure of being expensive - those that most often buy them (typically based on price alone and not quality) would migrate to the next company charging 200 per pair of shoes.
