I am taking my wife to Paris for the day on EuroStar in June, and I wanted to get some ideas of things to do. We do not have a load of time there (about 10 hours).

I was thinking Notre Dame, Montmartre (for lunch), and Eiffle Tower.

Thanks for any ideas you might have

you just named the three places in Paris with highest concentration of tourists, if you're going on a weekend and don't like crowds avoid those 3 at all cost.

It depends of what you like, I would go to Musée d'Orsay, you can browse some impressive art quickly (not like a regular museum, where you are forced to go trough all the rooms) and you can stand at the top just by the Seine, after I would have lunch and take a stroll trough the Jardin du Luxembourg (an amazing garden where you can walk, relax, etc.) and then would finish the day at a cafe in Île St-Louis

We are going on a Thursday, so the crowds should not be as crazy! I will have to do the Eiffel Tower -- the wife will want to do this 100%.

10 hours is not much to visit a city like Paris. I suppose you live in England? Or are you just visiting Europe?

Living in Paris, I suggests you to visit the Eiffel Tower for sure, Notre-Dame and the corner, Montmartre is a good idea as well and finally, the Champs-Elysees of course.

Catacombs but man you need a REALLY good guide. You need to know someone, you can't just pick up any guide for that..

English, living in Canada, but returning for a holiday.

Going more for the experience - neither of us has been on Eurostar before, and where we are staying in the UK is about 10 mins from the Eurostar station. I promised my wife a while ago I would take her to Paris, and I always keep my word.

I like these suggestions, inline with what i was thinking. I might skip Notre Dame, and just do Sacre Cur on Monmartre instead

after the eiffel tower, I would recommend walking down Champs-Elysee with all the stores and cafe's and at the end of the street, you will be able to visit the Arc de Triomph. For the arc, there are tunnels that run underneath the streets so do not try to cross them (a lot of tourists miss the tunnel).

I would sooooo skip the Eiffel Tower, other than to go to the plaza. The lines could mean you wait hours. If you walked the plaza where the Tower is, then got back on the Metro and crossed the river, there is a great wine museum that does a wine/cheese tasting at the end of the self guided tour.
Sacre Coeur is nice, Notre Dame during Mass is incredible (especially on a high Sunday, but you're going on Thursday), whether you are Catholic, religious, or not -- though the Japanese tourists with the flash bulbs going off in the middle of the service is not incredible or cool. You can also walk around Ile de la Cite and get a good view of the boats on the Seine.
The Champs Elysee is a good idea, there are loads of stores with awesome displays (I always like the Renault Atelier) and some good cafes.

If you have time, I suggests you to dine and watch a show at Lido on the Champs-Elysees. You won't regret it.
