I've been using XP for years now.

Over the weekend, I formatted, threw windows 7 on, turned off the aero interface - and it is, without a doubt, faster than XP, in terms of booting, running and memory handling.

Trust me - I've hated vista from the start - and I still do - but Windows 7 really is a decent OS. The RC1 is incredibly solid.

I'm using the 64bit version of W7 and I must say it is a pretty solid for an RC compare to vista...

I really don't like Vista all that much myself but have been very pleasantly surprised by Windows 7. I'm actually impressed.

I'm not impressed with it's home networking however, it's a tad too difficult for networking with anything other than other Windows 7 machines. If they iron that out before the final release, it'll be just about perfect.

By the way, 64 bit version here as well and it's been solid. Once I figured out the networking, it's been flawless.
