I can update from Wordpress version 2.6.3. to 2.7.1 without having any effects in the template design?

Make a backup and give it a whirl. I don't think you'll have any issues.

Never had an issue either. Just make sure to back everything up There are people that work on wordpress around here that can do it for you.. Not sure of what the fee would be.

(make sure you backup your template folder if you still use one in the folder /default or /classic)

backup database, there is a plugin for this; turn off plugins, and go ahead upgrading it.
