Adult processor GTBill shut down by feds

WASHINGTON (AP) -- An advocacy group for online poker said Tuesday that the federal government has frozen more than $30 million in the accounts of payment processors that handle the winnings of thousands of online poker players.

In a letter dated Friday and faxed to Alliance Bank, the prosecutor said accounts held by payment processor Allied Systems Inc. are subject to seizure and forfeiture "because they constitute property involved in money laundering transactions and illegal gambling offenses."
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/APNews...-15481559.html

Allied Systems sells in Adult under GTbill.com, they lost their mastercard privileges some months ago

gtbill site is down. RIP

Who wants to bet that there are a lot of pissed off poker players out there...

That's more money than the iBill debacle.

That's why I stick to strip poker - even if I lose my shirt, I still have money.

The poker sites just eat these losses for now. These were payments scheduled to go out to poker players, they will be reimbursed.

Please check you facts before you spout off bullshit like that. GTBill is alive and well, and always we are still offering some of the lowest rates in the business.

i was pretty careful to do that

the only "Allied Systems" payment processor on google is:

http://www.alliedsystems.net/

GTBill actually is part of a larger company, Allied Systems, which has been in the payment processing business for more than five years, processing for standard e-commerce companies, as well as some adult merchants.
http://www.xbiz.com/articles/93283

Same IP for both GTbill.com and Alliedsystems.net

I was referring to the GTBill being shutdown. As you can notice, none of our sites are down. The only thing that was affected was our ACH services, and that was only for a few days.

I don't use GTbill and most likley never will, however, by the thread title and the fact that its not true I would be pissed if I was Scott.

Did he handle it wrong? Yeah. Pretty damaging thread title though to say a company is shut down when its not. Especially when people already have a bad taste in their mouth from previous processors.

I dont think he needs to be crucified for his response. Once again people making mountains out of a molehill.

Jake is correct, as I was just speaking with him.

We have only lost our ACH processing right now, which is totally seperate from CC Processing. GTBill and Alliedwallet is up and running, and we are now totally focused on our credit card processing. If anyone has any questions, you can contact me at anytime.

Yeah just another case of not having all the facts before putting up the inflammatory thread. No biggie though it sparks conversation and usually the real story makes it's way out. That being said the whole no online poker thing is just stupid. It's not clogging the series of tubes. The only thing being clogged is the politicians pockets with that special money which makes them think online gambling is a bad idea for almost no good reason. For example: Betting on horses online is legal but poker is not. It is still gambling. Doesn't make any sense.

in this industry, with processors, you have to police them yourselves. No processor is going to admit they are having trouble, because when that happens, their incentive is to save their own business and they tend to use their clients funds for that purpose and/or their own income.

by the time they admit and apologize that there are payment issues, nobody is going to get anything.

however, if your one of the early ones that demands their money, they will give it to you in order for you not to make a stink about it

some people got all their money from ibill, others that believed their sales reps, waited a few months and got nothing

Please re-read my post. I am not against policing processors or anyone else for that matter in this biz. What i do have a problem with is somebody posting a thread saying a company is out of business when they are still up and running.

As far as the molehill comment, I was referring to the fact that people were jumping all over this guy because he lost his cool for a moment. People seem to be more concerned with his one sentance than the fact that their ACH went down and have all this money frozen.

Personally i would be pissed to if someone started a thread saying HotCams shut down by Feds when we were not.

Oh well, just another day on GFY....

Given the thread title and the sensationalist allegations in the first post, I dont think the response from GTBill was out of order, and I am pretty sure that virtually everybody here would have reacted in the same way if it was their own business being (wrongly it appears) accused of having been shut down....especially as failed payment processors is a very very sensitive area.

So he used the word "bullshit". If something is not true, that is what it is.

Would you have preferred him to come out with carefully chosen words by their lawyers like "these allegations are completely without foundation"?

It's the same thing.

Glad to see that GTBill is alive and well - you guys are cool People really do need to get their facts straight before posting. Chance are we all know owners of companies who take things very hard when misinformation is put out.
