occasionally there are new hip hop/R&B artists that are good, that have good lyrics, a beat that actually is good with good instruments that aren't electronic in nature. But then it gets drowned out by some guy wearing some funny styled hat, showing off a bandaid on his ass where a bulled grazed him and some jewelry we're supposed to think is made from platinum and diamonds. You have a point. But I hope you do realise that the shit on TV is made for dumb people. There's a lot of good hip hop around, but it's too intelligent for the average TV viewer. Nowadays the formula is a candy ass beat and lame matching lyrics (it doesn't matter what they spit, as long as it's catchy).

Hey Frank I agree with you on some of your points. If you listen to this type of "hip hop" and you're male over the age of 16 there isn't much hope for you. Females tend to listen to to this into their 20's. This type of shit is geared towards kids mostly. What type of music were you into at 14-18? I bet you don't listen to it today.

It's hard to pin down the birth of rock and roll, but the first rock and roll RECORDS preceded Elvis by half a generation, and were made by a fellow named Louis Jordan in the late 1940's.

I have to agree with the state of popular music sucking, and that the commercial hip hop is garbage...

However, Elvis was far from the man that invented rock music. Louis Jordan as mentioned had a hand in it, as did Chuck Berry and Little Richard. Elvis was the plagiarist that made it readily available to the whites.
