It's a war for hearts and minds, you twits, as much as a war of eradication.

It's better to let them escape, and gain a propaganda coup, than to continue to convince the afghanis that we are the infidel invaders that the taliban say we are.

Haven't you "warriors" studied anything about anti-insurgency tactics? It's all about gaining the support and trust of the locals.

I'll bet you don't even know we've stopped poppy eradication, because all it was doing was driving the population back into the protection of the taliban.

There is very long list of nations, empires, and regimes that have all tried and failed to pacify Afghanistan -- dating all the way back to Alexander the Great. Britain is even keen enough for a second crack of the whip, even after having their asses royally handed to them at the Khyber Pass about 130 years ago. The British, Canadians, and Americans are only in control of what they have their guns pointed at, and nothing more.

Yep, and the very second a US troop removes a head scarf or burka to check for
female the Taliban will gain 5000 new recruits right there on the spot!

Based on culture over there, that would be equal to raiding your home in America
and then parting your wife's pussy to look for crack cocaine and then spitting in
your face when they leave.

Don't try to judge the troops unless you know what they are actually working on.
If the troops just wanted to kill everybody, they could have done that. No problem.

They are thinking long term and survival.
They will be shot at tomorow no matter what...... so do they
