My List of Favorite FREE Tools for Affiliates - What's Yours?

I love free things. Here is my list of free affiliate tools that I love most. Many of these are obvious but I may end up helping a newbie. Some of the items listed below have paid versions, but in these cases, I have found the free version to be good enough:

WordPress (duh!)

TALS - Tracking Adults Links System

Nubiles Tube Script

Nifty Stats (I cannot get StatsRemote to install -- I tried all of the instructions and fixes.)

phpBB

Open Office (I use MS Office, but Open Office is good if you do not have MS Office)

Google Apps (I have email for seven domains all coming into my single apps "install")

Google Analytics (best web stats program out there, IMHO)

Joomla (best CMS, IMHO)

Filezilla (FTP Program)

7-zip (full featuredfile archiver)

Photoscape

What are you able to add to the list?

I prefer StatCounter. I don't trust GA.

Very nice. GA is great but its good to balance it with 1 or 2 other stat tools. Good to have a 2nd (or 3rd) opinion.

Nice thread. I'll have to bookmark it.

Here's my contribution.

GIMP -Free image editing software. Its new to me and I don't use it as much as photoshop but it seems pretty solid so far.

Jruler - My man Scuzz showed me this, rarely a day goes by I don't break it out. (not sure if the link i gave is the official site, download at your own discretion)

Firefox Addons
- Fireftp - Fast and easy but not as good as a standalone ftp program like filezilla
- Download Statusbar - Firefoxx default download manager/whatever is terrible
- Chrome View - View your webpage in chrome but in a firefox tab
- IE tab - View your webpage in IE but in a firefox tab
- Safari View - " "
- Font Finder - See a sweet font on a guys site want to know what it is?
- Search Status - Indispensible
- GA? - Check if google analytics is installed on your pages while browsing
- and a half a dozen others

Better File Rename - Its not free, but it has saved me hundred of hours im sure. Search around theres probably free ones similar to it. I think this is the link to the one that costs... http://www.publicspace.net/windows/B...ame/index.html This is a link to a free one of the same name that I cannot vouch for... http://download.cnet.com/Better-File...-10078468.html

I should clarify that I have my server logs, too...but GA is good for drilling down to see the things that interest me most.

Use awstats on the servers, and GA as my main now. Gives me two to compare.

Thanks for your list.

I have Photoshop because I could never figure out GIMP. It seems like a great program that does all you'll need it to, but for some reason, I just couldn't "get it."

I was debating on going through my Firefox plug-ins and WP plug-ins but didn't want my initial list to get so long that nobody would read the thread. I am glad someone else stepped up with that info though.

Ohh shit, I forgot about them. I just logged in and found some old ass websites its still installed on. That was is a great program but they used to limit the free accounts to a low number of visitors tracked so i stopped using it. I'm going to start using them again for the sites I don't want Google associating with my analytics tracked sites.

filezilla is fucking excellent. thats what I use.

Just started playing with joomla and thats going well.

Wordpress of course is the best!

other than them, my favourite free scripts etc....

Are:

lovdbyless (twitter type script)
speed dial for firefox (so convenient)
not a script but: http://urlpagerank.com is pretty good

and probably a few others!

That reminds me...I love TweetDeck for my "personal" Twitter account, but when it comes to managing the various Twitter accounts I have for my sites, Twhirl is the winner for me because I can manage all of my accounts from one app.

Oh shit, quoting for an awesome tool I have never heard of.

Reasons like this is why I like to occasionally start these threads on various boards. I always end up with new tools in my arsenal. This is one of those things I wouldn't have even imagined being out there, so I would have never even looked for it.

Yea same here. I probably don't give it enough of a chance though. I'll try to do something I do commonly with photoshop, find out it doesnt work the same, cry about it on their forum and ask how it works in GIMP but instead of waiting for a response I go to my main pc and do it in photoshop.

Here you go:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/renameit/
Best one I tried and free.

Also, FireFox plugin "FireBug" : awesome for debugging javascripts.
