IMHO she was one of the FIRST sites period. Heres an interesting read from http://www.businessofporn.com/wiki/i...mateur_Website First Adult Amateur Website Determining the first adult amateur website is tougher than it sounds. The cost of having a "homepage" in the early days was very expensive because of overage charges and no easy way to monetize the site. A list of firsts however would not be accurate without the inclusion of Carol Cox, Jen of Jen-dave.com, Jamesandvictoria.com , Oasis, briefly Deb Of The Web and Jenni of Jennicam.com. "Carol's first website was on cam.org, starting in April 1994 (based on our earlier BBS). That then was moved to inforoute.net in February 1995, and then to carolcox.com in September 1996. Most of us just had virtual hosting back then as we really didn't understand the value of a dedicated URL. Even sites like cyberotica and all JoeE's stuff was just on virtual hosting at the very beginning. If you look at the "WayBackMachine", you can see the oldest archived Amateur Link List we have (archive.org doesn't go earlier than this). This was a snapshot of December 19, 1996 - http://web.archive.org/web/199612191...s/amateur.html. You can see that almost everyone was using Virtual domains back then, including Jen and Dave who had already registered there URL by this time. When we first met James and Victoria back in early 1996, they had just started and also hadn't registered a domain name as of yet. Their first site was on borg.com. I should also mention that Jim and Vicky never really had an "Amateur" website. Their site was mainly links out and submitted pictures of other people. They only had a couple of pictures of themselves on the site. Jim was actually trying to start an early swingers personal site back then. You are right about Lance. He had his Ladyhawke website (his old girlfriend), back in 1994/1995. Like us, he used to run Adult BBSes before the Web, and he had one for LadyHawke as we had one for "Wild Rose". I started talking to Lance back in mid-1995, and he came up to visit us in June of 1996. He came back with Oasis in December of 1996, and they stayed at our place. I should clarify that the "Carol Cox" name wasn't used until mid-1996. Prior to that, Carol was known as "Wild Rose", which was her old BBS handle since 1986. We even had a Wild Rose Usenet group that we started in 1992. We had wanted the wildrose.com name, but that was taken by a health food place in Alberta. carol.com was also taken, so we sat around for close to a year trying to figure out a domain name. A Gay friend of ours (who was also the guy who ran the inforoute.com servers) was the one who came up with the name "Carol Cox" and hence, carolcox.com I do have to say that the 2 oldest existing sites I know of, and even have a record of on our old link lists, were Jen & Dave and Oasis. I cannot think of anyone else who was in the "Amateur business" back then who is still around and maintaining their sites." Danny Cox / CarolCox.com To get a snapshot in time of how many ladies had an early web presence check out this archieve . . . http://cgi.amazing.com/women/women-sexy.html "Yeah, unfortunately, we don't own jenanddave.com... just jen-dave.com, which was indeed registered on February 20, 1996. I do think that makes us the very first amateurs to register their own domain... it was also at that time that we started the members-area portion of our site, which I also think we were the first to do (or at least the first that's still around)... at least I'm pretty sure (if I'm wrong, please correct me!)... Of course, we did have an internet presence before then. We started our newsgroup postings (and officially became JEN n DAVE :-p) in May of '95, started the website in October of '95, moved from mirror to mirror, free host to free host until February of '96 when we went with a permanent, paid-for-host, registered the domain and started the members-area, which I tend to think as when we made everything really official, although we kind of split the difference and counted our anniversaries from the time we first launched an actual website of our own: October of '95.... So, while we may not have been the very, very first to get on the internet and start sharing our personal pictures and such, we can at least say we were one of the first :-p Although, while we've kind of carried that around as a badge of honor over the years, I guess in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter... I'm just glad we did it, period :-p" Jen of Jen-Dave.com "Carol gave us our first link. I think her site was up a few months before ours. No matter how long, it was up before ours. And, jamesandvictoria started out as just a place to look at pictures (not of us), post personals, read stories...etc. ... you know how long someone has really been in the business. Ask them to describe Deb of the Web She pulled her site down probably before 99% of the people started in this business." Jim of jamesandvictoria.com "When I met Lance (New Year's Eve 1994/5 - we just celebrated our 12th anniversary), he was running adult BBSs. Shortly after I moved in with him in June 1995 he put up his first website with a few pics of me, but mostly old girlfriends. With my 1995 Christmas bonus from Discovery Channel, we bought a video camera, made a REALLY amateur porno, and my site went up in February 1996. A fan of Lance's site was the IT administrator for a local business, and hosted us (unbeknowst to his employers!) at mirage.skygate.net" Oasis of cum2oasis.com |

Some excellent names mentioned in this thread, Lightspeed, Teenrevenue, Mayors, Jayman, Phil Flash, etc. Countless sologirl sites have tried to emulate their business model and success.
There were earlier successes for sure, but these seem to be what many newer solo programs have strived to become.

Agreed (first time I ever agreed with you) but part of the success of that site is down to Raven herself. The girl is smokin hot, she's on a different planet to all other Solo Girls out there.
