Ask the experts...does sucking in your gut damage your internal organs?
when i need to find out information like this....i like to come to gfy
there is always an expert, or at least someone who will give a well thought out response to a question they like. so here it is....does repetitive sucking in of the gut damage your internal organs? think of the classic beer gut type guy with alot of extra gut hanging out there. when he sucks it all in, doesnt it squish into and squeeze all of the internal organs in on each other? when done maybe 20-30 times a day...almost daily...it cant be good i was thinking about this the other day...and i think it is good extra fuel to keep losing weight..lol |

The abdominal muscles can only contract so far, and the small amount of force and pressure is unlikely to cause internal injuries even to someone with a substantial belly. Some people, including myself, do these exercises called "stomach vacuums", which is essentially just that- sucking in your gut by trying to pull your belly button in towards your spine. It just trains those muscles slightly to strengthen one's core. It is supposed to strengthen those muscles a little, but frankly, I think that the positive is mostly psychological in my opinion, since the little bit of exercise this entails makes one more aware of one's mid-section and in tune with one's own core muscles, more than actually making them much stronger.

it seems like you are cramming more volume into the same space...so things have to move whilst a person with almost no fat...has more free volume to play with in the first place |
