10% flat tax on income over $50,000 and no deductions.

Make $40,000 you pay $0
Make $75,000 you pay $2,500
Make $125,000 you pay $7,500
Make $1,000,000 you pay $95,000

This should also be the tax rate for corporations.
Eliminate estate tax.
Eliminate capital gains tax.

Warren Buffet (a multi...multi billionaire) ...said that it was unfair that his personal secretary who he paid 90 plus thousand per year...has to pay more in income tax then he does. When President Bush cut taxes on the wealthy so that they would use the increased net to produce more jobs (the trickle down effect)...Warren Buffet said the tax cut put 300 million in his pocket and the 300 million would not create a single new job. There are many wealthy people that have stated that they would not mind paying more income taxes...but as long as the tax breaks for them are availalbe they of course will use it to their advantage.

Martha Stewart...just a week or so ago stated on the Cuvuto show that she for one does not mind at all paying taxes and would be willing to pay more in taxes. I have heard some wealthy stars say that they would not mind paying up to 50% in income taxes...but have said that they would like to keep at least $1.00 out of every $2.00 they earn.

Just because a few people want to pay more taxes does not mean we should impart their will on the rest of us. Tell them to make a donation to the government if they are so inclined.

I for one mostly only pay capital gains taxes at this point in time...but when I was paying substantial amounts of income tax...I did not mind it. In fact I fired a good friend of mind who was my accountant...at the time...for being creative when I had specifically told him (as I had previous accountants) not to be creative at all. I like having the infrastructure that exists in this country as well as supporting environmental issues...parks...education...police...fireman...mi litary etc.

If these ass hat celebrities are saying they would not mind paying 50%+ taxes why are they not already DONATING 50% of their income to charities, hospitals, schools ect? If they DONATED WILLINGLY to these causes, the income tax could actually GO DOWN.

Talk is cheap.

I think it is a known fact that many celebrities contribute heavily to charitable entities...in money...time and services.

Please point me to where I said they donate 50% let alone more than 50% of their income to charities please. But to name one that is a celebrity of sorts former Vice President Chaney...if I recall correctly donates more than half of his income to charity.

I am so fucking sick of states like California that punish the successful. 2007 was my best year and I paid more in taxes then some blue collar people make in a year. Now increasing my car tax, sales tax, income tax, corp tax and god knows what else in the future. Its know wonder why people would rather go offshore. No reason to stay in the US. I believe in taxes but not punitive taxes.
*****End of Line******

Do what all the smart people are doing, if they can, move to NV or any other state with no income tax.

I've lived in NV and, compared to there, the 9% I now pay OR is more than worth it to me.
