GI Joe movie reviews

Think the critics are mad at not getting a pre-screeining for review (they decided to let a bunch of veterans attend the screening rather than the critics).

First time I have ever seen such a bad review on Yahoo!:

Movies have hit an all time low, how much fucking garbage can they make? What can we expect next, a movie of the smurgs or He-Man?

There were a lot of bad signs about this movie. The director got fired one of the writers sued to get his name taken off of it, it got such bad responses from focus groups that they went and did a bunch of reshoots. Then they refused to release it to critics. Usually when they do that it is because they know it is pretty bad.

Sucked if you were trying to find in it a movie that will change your opinion about war and mankind. . I stepped in the cinema with my best 10 yr old mind set, and I liked it :-) Can you just imagine the huge toy sales after this?

The funny thing is a lot of the movies that are coming out now are straight out of my youth. Spiderman, Wolverine, Transformers, GI Joe, X-Men, Iron Man. These were all comics and toys I played with as a child of the 80's. I guess now that the kids of the 80's are in their 30's and are in power in Hollywood they are taking the stuff from their childhoods and making movies from it. It is kind of like My Youth:The Movie.

It was sooooo bad. All they did was buy the name GI Joe and made some shitty ass movie around it. I can't believe Hasbro allowed this to happen. I didn't expect a perfect movie, but come on, even for an action flick this sucked. They hinted on a second one and I will not fall for this shit again. Hollywood again destroys a great story.

I know what you mean. Wolverine and X-men and Spiderman movies when I was a kid would have been more than I could have handled.

Terrible movie. Can't we get something at least remotely original anymore. Something with at least a semblance of a plot would be nice.
