DC regulars/residents

We are at National Harbor. Done with work. What are some cool [preferably exciting] things to do around here?

We walked around DC yesterday, went inside the Washington Monument. that kind of stuff.

Thinking about water taxi to Mt Vernon. Any other suggestions? We have a few days to burn.

Goto Old Town Alexandria/king street area. You can take the metro there. Get off on king street and then walk alll the way down to the end of king and you'll run into shopping/dinning all sorts of neat places down there.

Roll all your windows down & take a nice/slow ride through South East D.C.

You'll really enjoy the wind circulating through your ride as you see some of the cities finest historic neighborhoods. You can always smell fresh herbs being baked...Mmmm Mmmm Mmmmm. Don't forget to stop at a corner store & get yourself an ice cold REAL old fashioned coca cola!

Be sure to stop & talk to people standing on the corners....they are some of the nicest young men in the world & always willing to run up to the car & help with directions!
