Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

I remember someone posted the trailer for this on here a few months back and i was like, "wow what the hell is this" ?!?

Just noticed it's out on dvd here now. Did it even appear in the cinema lol ?

Anyway, i'm gonna buy it for the laughs. Looks pretty damn hilarious to me...

Who's actually seen it ???

I am pretty sure this was a Sci-Fi original. It's been on TV a fair amount this month. I tried to watch it a few times but every time I turn to it it's just a bunch of second rate actors, no giant squid, no mega shark. So dissapointing.

Did anyone catch that "shark swarm" or whatever it was called sci-fi original with fat Darryl Hanna? Fucking AWFUL! The only thing that kept me watching was trying to spot Darryl Hanna's fake finger

Cheap effects + Debbie (excuse me, that's "Deborah") Gibson + Lorenzo Lamas = awesome.

It's worth it just for the scene where the shark leaps up out of the ocean and.... well, I won't spoil it for you.

I've seen it..... incredible waste of time.... I can make better special effects with windows movie maker .....the asshats who edited that movie obviously didn't know their way around editing/CG animation..... I am a fan of such genre (to a certain extent) so I found movies like anaconda and that one with the giant crocodile rather amusing but this one was -remarkably crappy- ....

Yes -- remarkably crappy... so crappy that it MUST be seen to be believed. LOL

To be honest, I never made it all the way through it. My wife kept falling asleep, and I refused to suffer it alone.

Now, this shark related instant classic on the other hand.... was also very crappy.

I'm a sucker for these types of movies...
Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus could have used more of each creature in the title, but it was decent for z-grade trash....

best Sci-Fi original movie: Puppet Master Vs. Demonic Toys with Corey Feldman playing the father of a teenage daughter, doing his really bad old man voice...instant cheese classic...

Which one? Was it "Rogue"? If so I found Rogue to be slightly enjoyable as well.

Maybe it's just the generation I grew up in, but there's something endearing about the 80's movies like Alligator or 70's movies like Night of the Leepus or Kingdom of the Spiders, that these movies just don't have.

I grew up watching really bad horror- like Food of the Gods bad horror movies- so I can look past pesky things like solid writing and production quality. For some reason these newer, CGI heavy "creature" flicks really REALLY stink. They aren't even entertaining to make fun of, there's just too much fodder, it's like picking on a retarded kid.

I mean, expanding to just newer horror and scifi in general, take Ed Wood, Plan 9 from outer space.. there's a paper plate stapled to a wall. In my mind the bar was set low for the genre at an early age. The Horror at Party Beach- it's a fish with hot dogs in it's mouth- love it. I love schlock, but I would rather chew off a limb than watch something like "alien apocalypse" again.

We should get together some time to discuss movies that arouse our interest .... dinner and a movie?
