Inglourious Basterds

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inglourious_Basterds

Who has seen it? What do you think of it?

I was disappointed by it. It just didn't have the same flow as his other movies. It just seemed too crammed together and had recycled music from Kill Bill. I was really bummed walking out of theater.

ouch, to me, the whole premise of scalping nazis is just out in left field. I know he wanted to make a "sphagetti western" but that is just taking it a bit too far

Sure, but you can't go by that...

Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Just check out Rottentomatoes.com. It's like 86%, or something. Sounds like your paper guy just might be an asshole.

I thought the movie was too long and dragged out. The whole time, I was waiting for something unexpected or cool to happen, but it never did. The plot was dull and the violence excessive, to the point of gore. Also, I didn't like Brad Pitt's acting in this movie. I don't think he was best suited for the role he played and not once did I believe his accent or character.

1 hour too long and too much stupid dialog.
86% on rotten doesn't mean shit - could just mean 86% of reviewers though it was ok.

I've also heard it's getting less than stellar reviews.

Has Tarantino lost his touch?

That's very narcissistic of you, since both of those movies are regarded as being pretty damn good., I guess you know better than everyone else. You're oblivious to the fact that you have no taste.

Anyone who goes into this movie expecting lots of action and gunfights is going to be disappointed.

If you like long scenes with brilliant dialogue that take their time, and build up to great payoffs, then you'll love it. This movie was pure cinema orgasm. The half hour tavern scene is the scene of the decade.

Oh yeah, and everyone in the theater applauded. That rarely happens.

For those who haven't seen it I won't give away any plot stuff, just understand two things.

Only about 1/3rd of the movie is Brad Pitt and his crew killing Nazis. The rest is split up on other things that to me were too long.

About 2/3rds of the movie is in subtitles because they are speaking French or German. To me it distracts greatly. I don't mind subtitles on some movies, but with Tarantino you want to hear people say his dialogue, not read it.

Like others said, I thought it was about an hour too long and some of the scenes just drag on and on and on. I am a big fan of his, but this one just did nothing for me.

I thought it was pretty entertaining. There were some pretty raw scenes that made me cringe at times. At some points, I definitely felt like the scenes & dialogs where drawn out a bit, and it was like 75% subtitles, but overall I enjoyed it.
