Every use a Kill-a-Watt?

I calculated the energy consumption and cost of operating my Core i7 machine & 21" monitor (with Blackberry USB charger, external HDD AC adaptor plugged in) and it consumes approximately .2 KWH / hour. This translates to an energy cost of roughly $16.60464 per month. Assuming of course that I'm running it 24/hrs per day, which I'm not.

Pretty handy little device.

Yes, I do. Previously, I used to leave it on but it's just a waste of energy and these days machines are so quick to boot anyway... it's not like I'm getting any benefit from leaving it on constantly.

computer parts work longer time when left on 24/7, at least that's what I heard.
