How to prepare marlin steaks?

At the seafood department today I bought a beautiful yellowfin tuna steak and next to it was a really nice looking marlin steak, which I had never had before. I bought both.

I like my tuna medium rare on the grill with olive oil, salt and pepper. No idea how to prepare the marlin. I'm sort of a purist with meat, I like to bring out the natural flavors as opposed to drowning them with sauces and spices.

Ideas?

I will be having roasted asparagus with it.

Are they best cooked all the way through or can you eat them a little rare?

I leave mine a little pink. Not as much as when I sear tuna though. It also takes longer to cook

I just had my Marlin with roasted asparagus and it was delicious. Pan fried with olive oil, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Sea salt and cracked pepper.

As an avid fisherman I'll give you two good reasons not to eat Marlin.

1. Marlin contain an unusually high amount of Mercury.

2. They are quickly becoming extinct from commercial fishing.
