Why don't people just stop being disgusting and drinking an entire 12 pack of soda rather than blame the pop companies for making something with calories?

I wish people would stop being so fucking stupid. They don't need to tax soda or chocolates, people just need to start taking responsibility.

get rid of the politicians' salaries, housing, travel expenses, and paid healthcare.
If they need health care put them on medicaid/medicare
If they need housing, put them in gov subsidized housing
If they need food, put them on food stamps
Need transportation, fly coach or go greyhound

but stop taxing us to pay for a fucked up government full of pampered assholes

People don't know how to cook these days. I know that is sure in the UK. At the same time when people watch tv cooking shows like it is porn they don't know how to do basic healthy cooking on their own.

Sometimes I think about training to be a home ec teacher just to make sure at least a couple fat kids, like I was, learn healthy cooking to take it forward in their lives and then teach their own kids. That said, in my home ec classes we made pizza and cakes.

I am not sure I could have lost the 90lbs I have so far if I didn't know how to cook and make my own food without having to open cans or jars.

Wow lots of um screwed up points in this thread.

Someone mentioned BMI, even though that is bullshit. Someone mentioned MSG when its harmful effects again are scientific and blind studied bullshit. Taxing all unhealthy food or whats bad for people again bullshit and who the fuck can say what is and is not. Pretty sure someone mentioned they better not tax chocolate and then someone else mentioned diabetes or tooth decay, even though dark chocolate has proven to be good for you - plus starches cause more cavities over sweets.

I do not like the idea of taxing foods beyond typical sales tax and CRV. If they must tax it though and we do need to raise taxes some (do not want to but shit, nobody wants to cut crap). I would rather see them have a high fructose corn syrup tax added at the manufacture level. Only reason it is in soda/pop right now is because it is a penny cheaper over sugar. Also if they did tax HFCS they must add in all of its other names so any form of modified corn syrup would be taxed. The shit is in to many food anyways.

In the end we would not really see that tax as they would just stop using the crap and revert to sugar again.

Add a 50% tax to everything in those categories which are 'unhealthy'. That'll teach people to fucking eat better, then this whole bullshit non-platform of globalized healthcare will go away until the next generation of automatons.

Protip: Pretty soon they'll do this tax on breathing. Hope your stupid ass is ready for it.

I freaking LOVE this idea. I think that all junk and fast food should be included in it. I am by no means a health food fanatic, (I ate a vegetable once, but it was deep fried) but I think a tax like that could do a lot of good but it wouold have to be a one cent type of deal.
