AdWords...

So I added my first campaign in AdWords last week. It got approved, I entered my billing info and all, added keywords etc etc., but still there is ZERO activity in my adwords account and my ad is not being displayed. I contacted AdWords a couple of days ago, no response..

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I'm not sure if I just have to wait for the campaign to start, or if there is something that I need to to (?). My first guess was that they needed to verify the billing info, but now, days later, I don't think that that should take so long?

budget caps are set too low?
poor ad to keyword relevancy?
keywords too specific?
bids too low?
inherited keyword quality scores too low?
serve ads evenly throughout the day is turned on?
campaign, adgroup or keywords are set to paused?
campaign start date set to the wrong date?
geo targeting set too specifically?
trademark or editorial issues in the ads?

good luck

I'm dealing with the same issue. I've been staring at an "Under Review" status for over a month now. I'm frustrated as all hell. I've sent them feedback through their stupid feedback form, I've posted on the forums... I've gotten 2 separate responses from them basically saying they'll get to it when they damn well feel like it.

They can't possibly be this busy. I think they're fucking with me. The ad says this:

GhettoThugs.com
Finest gay black and latino pics
and movies on the net. Join Now!
www.ghettothugs.com

What is questionable about that? It's my own site. There's no trademark issues. There's no questionable advertising.

I'm just pissed off at this point. These guys have got to get their shit together.

This happened to me too. I had to wait several weeks before being approved. Be patient.

could be a number of things, but most likely your ads are stuck in "review" especially if they are adult related.

if you want, hit me up and I can pass it along to my rep and get it moving along.

however, remember that Google is not 100% adult friendly so you could run into problems, such as having the ads disapproved or marked "adult only" which will basically never really show your ads.

Generally speaking it takes about two months to get a new account for adult ads to begin showing ads. It takes that long for a human to review your account, ads and landing page.

If you press them on the issue they will review it sooner, but you?re likely to get someone assigned to review it that doesn?t normally look at adult stuff and the likelihood of your ad getting approved is much lower.

My advice is to just wait it out and don?t draw any unwanted scrutiny to your account.

Interesting. When I first started promoting my site through Adwords back in '05, the process was nearly instant. They were popular back then. I can't understand why there would be such an increase in approval times today.

Makes no sense.

There is a strong possibility that your ad will never be approved. They will end up saying something like the use of the term ?Thugs? is degrading and or racially offensive. One my ads got sacked for using the term ?lesbo?.

They have enough adult ads to fill key words related to adult content. They are only really interested in working with people on the adult side that will spend significant $$$ (think 100k a year as a floor) and play by their very restrictive rules.

I had to change my DVD category "Twinks" into another word... Try finding another word that is "Google acceptable" for this type of movies!

In the end, I renamed it to 18-21 y.o men and got approved within a day...

weird science, Google that is

I thought the whole point was that an open market with bidding will increase their revenue. Making it a closed market works against them.

I like Yahoo ad words better. Google adwords can get expensive real quick. I always try new campaigns out on Yahoo just to get the feel of what sells. I know it takes a bit to get into the rotation on Google, give it a bit then check again.
