I have a feeling it won't be very good just based on the way they are marketing it. There is no real trailer per say, just shots of people watching the movie and reacting to it. I need to see a little more than a possibly coached audience to make me think I have to see this.

^True, I have the same feeling but I'm just hoping it can actually live up to the hype. Here's a comment from youtube:
Quote:
I just got back from seeing this movie. It is actually really scary. The clips they show you on the trailer is only a small portion of what happens in the film. Don't judge it on the trailer only. >> Seriously, go see it.
If it's lame I'll just sneak into Zombieland I've heard that shit is hilariously good.

I saw this movie last night in Fairfax, VA and I would say it wasn't anything spectacular. It scared the shit out of my GF and her friend we took but that doesn't say much. Very low budget and kind of lame if you ask me. The only time it really scared anyone was with loud noises and not really with the movies content at all. I would rank it with the Blair Witch as far as "Horror films" this movie probably cost a few grand to make.

I've seen zombieland as well and would have rather seen that again if i had known.

Just an update I just watched that trailer and it pretty much shows the entire movie and that isn't an exaggeration at all.

I admire the marketing job they've done for this flick though...brilliant ad campaigns...

I saw it a few days ago, it isn't a bad flick at all. Has a LOT of suspense in it... I would say it is worth going to check out.

if you watch stuff like ghost hunters and other "scary" shows on TV.. where they investigate... you won't be scared until like the last 20 mins...

It wasn't bad.. but it wasn't what everyone said it was either.

I did do a genuine terror scream, twice....

Saw it with a jam packed theater, it was a great movie IMO. It seems like some people just like to dismiss movies as crap no matter how good they are, this movie is unique from all other scary movies and yes I actually almost covered my eyes at one point, something no 'scary movie' has ever done. Maybe it was the energy from the full theater but I thoroughly enjoyed this. I'd suggest you go see it ASAP so you don't have to watch it with like 10 people, for a movie like this it's definitely more fun having a bunch of yelling/scared/freaked out people in the theater.

I want to like it, but I'm going to keep my expectations low. I've been suckered punch in the gut by the hype machine about 3 times this year.

not to be at all racist..
But black people in scary movies are funny..

we always watch our scary movies in the ghetto side of town.. on opening weekend. It's a lot more fun.

See the thing is, this movie is going to be horrible as a rental, definitely as a streaming bootleg, but if you see it in the theater its going to be much more fun than your usual theater experience..

My cousin went to go see it. She really enjoyed it. She was suggesting I go see it. I don't know if I will or not. I have seen everything else out, though. So, that's about the only thing I have left until Saw VI, which I will definitely be seeing.
