Not one to often give praise to chain restaurants but.

I must really admit the French dip sliders, and a side of French onion soup from applebee's is pretty fucking tasty.
Could do without the fries, well perhaps if eaten there but not for car side to go service.

They have that combo as a lunch special in th 5-6 buck range I think. I did the dinner option, which means the sliders with Au Jus are one order and the Onion soup is another. I also added a side of artichoke-spinach dip with chips, always good and hard for places to mess up. It was my backup.

I get applebees for lunch quite often and I approve of this message.

I find myself usually ordering the spinach dip which comes with the appetizer sampler.

It is not a huge meal. 3 sliders about the size of large biscuits, decent amount of meat for a small sandwich, touch of cheese, great flavor and the dipping juice is not extra fatty like some places.
I tossed the fries but they give an OK amount.
The soup is well a bowl of soup, Car side it is a touch smaller I think. Same goes with the artichoke dip. I have had that in the place and they do give you more when you dine in. Oh and they add in a side of salsa, which I did not use. It is for the dip since it is also served with tortilla chips to dip into the dip.

What do you think about Red Lobster lunch specials ASM? They are my 1st or 2nd choice when it comes to a "good and filling" lunch that I can pick up and eat while continuing to work. You a fan of them? I don't think you can beat the salmon platter for $9 bucks when it comes with biscuits and a nice salad.

Honestly I am sort of stuck at home right now - medical reasons. So if it does not do car side or delivery I have to skip it.

Sadly we have just a few seafood places here. Red Lobster, Buzz's crab, a fish and chips place, and a surf and turf over priced in a hotel place. Oh the one that burnt down 2 years ago that was good, did re open - just have not made it back in.

Buzz crab, well they do crab well. Fresh from local boats and all. They are more technically a fish stand with a dinning area attached. However for some odd reason they went down hill and if not for their history with locals and people who pass through. I would not think they would survive today if they just opened. Not like you asked about this shit, lol.

I do not dislike red lobster for what it is. I typically always try to stick to whatever the fresh fish special is. I always go for the fresh fish option there, even if I know it was previously frozen. The live lobsters are a waste as they can not cook them without what I would say is no less than murder of a dish.
Salmon is pretty hard to screw up, same with Tilapia - so hard to go wrong. Their salad I find a bit weak, but the soup option sucks and typically costs more unless the waiter is cool. The biscuits are damn good and you can eat a ton. Just avoid them on the rare occasions that they have endless crab. I do eat them though when they do the endless shrimp as I go with scampi and if you do not eat some bread all that fat and oil will fuck your shit up latter, sometimes sooner.

And yes I have ZERO issues with taking advantage of both lunch specials and coupons. Fuck over paying or looking to cool to use a coupon.

Oh Red lobster - avoid stuffed mushrooms. No way possible the way they cook them for the cook to not either overcook the stuffing or undercook the mushroom. Either way they come out very bad.
Only if they learned to pre cook the mushrooms cap side down for a little bit, chill until ready and then stuff and broil.

Odds are local problem. I would of filed a complaint if it happened more than once. There are reasons why we have inspectors who are often so over worked they go to where the complaints are first.

No cheesecake factory here, but they are damn good. Very typical hang out at many webmaster gatherings.
