ok so kids are dropping like flies due to h1n1.
if you are anti-vaccine and you refuse to get your kids the vaccine and your kids die from h1n1 will you feel guilty? |

Around 80 kids, 15 of which weren't already sick with something. 1,200 world wide deaths of all people, in 3 flu seasons, I think.
vs. the normal flu that only kills..... 800 people a week or roughly 35,000 every year. In America alone.

not asking that.
simple question: if you refuse to let your kid get the h1n1 vaccine and the kid dies from h1n1 would you feel guilty? |

I am not a parent, but I would imagine this is a no win situation question. If they don't get the shot or do get the shot and die, I am sure the feeling would be horrific

What a restarted question!
If a parent lost a kid, of course they'd feel guilt, remorse, extreme sorrow. It'd rip their fucking heart out.

i mean would feel worse than usual, knowing you may have contributed to the kids death?
or would the belief that you stood by your principles - no matter how misguided - mitigate it somewhat? i am not a parent, so i don't know. |

I am not sure you can consider your child dying, regardless of how they die, as usual.

No, I wouldn't feel guilty. That isn't to say I wouldn't feel sad. If something like this made me feel guilty, then I would need to remove the 1,000's of other possible 'guilty feeling' things that could be attached to the death of my kids. Like waking them up at all that morning.

Sounds to me like this is a loaded question that's pushing an agenda.

no. a simple question that no one can answer.
would not a parent whose child died due their negligence feel more guilty that one whose child died due to an act of god? of course both would be devastated, but would not one be more so? |

However, for the basis of your question. If my child died or was injured and I had the ability to have prevented it, yes I would have regrets over not choosing the other path. BTW... the flu in your instance could easily be defined as an act of god rather than a negligent act. There is no guarantee a flu "vaccine" (which is a misnomer in and of itself) would fully prevent an infection. However, that does not mean the path is clear prior to the supposed incident. As they say, hindsight is always 20/20.

But I'm not Anti-Vaccine. I am slightly concerned about the potential side effects of a vaccine that was rushed to market.

i was just wondering because some kids have died from h1n1 around here the last few days and the parents seemed devastated. wondered if the parents were anti-vaccine.
if i was anti-vaccine and my kid died from h1n1 i would probably kill myself. Quote:

Exactly, My kids (not that I have any) nor I are going to be Guinea pigs. I'll wait a while I think before they have more info on this.

Well for starters:
1. They aren't dropping off like flies. 2. If people were dying every single day of H1N1 the numbers would be far higher than they are. 3. Not many have died from H1N1 compared to the total world population or other daily leading causes of death. 4. Odds are, a least right now, that 100 other fatal things might happen to you or your kids OTHER than H1N1. Quote:
