Heist- Guy gets away with $2 million Euros a Hero!

Even if the guy is caught he only does 3 years! And is a Hero already.

ReutersNovember 9, 2009 11:08 AM

LYON, France - French police have recovered most of an 11.6 million euro ($17.4 million) cash haul that they suspect was stolen by a security van driver last week, a state prosecutor said on Monday.

Prosecutor Xavier Richaud said police found 9.2 million euros hidden in a garage that the driver, Toni Musulin, had rented under a false name.

Musulin was working for a security firm in the southern city of Lyon when he vanished on Nov. 5 in an armoured van loaded with cash from the Bank of France.

Police originally thought he might have been kidnapped by gangsters, but soon found out that that Musulin?s flat had been cleared and his bank account emptied days before the robbery.

"He (Musulin) is still on the run with more than 2 million euros," Richaud told reporters.

Musulin has become a household name in France, with fan clubs popping up across the Internet.

Media commentators called it the perfect crime and police speculated at first that he might have already escaped abroad. But the garage was only rented until December, meaning Musulin clearly expected to return to the Lyon area to get his stash.

If he is caught, Musulin faces a maximum three-year prison term because he did not use violence to steal the cash.

I'd risk doing 3 years in a french prison for 20 million dollars.

If some frog eating motherfucker tried to fuck with me I'd kick him in his baguette.

Don't the security firms have measures to
a) track the vehicles
b) protect the cash from their own employees?

Btw, what happened to this guy? Has he been caught?

He should have made it look as if he was kidnapped.

Cops aren't very smart are they?

If I was hunting the guy and found a garage rented under a false name with 11mil euros in it, it'd keep quiet and sit on it until the fucker came back...

Well, here's the thing:
the cops involved obviously wanted to make a career themselves.
By reporting it, I am sure they got a promotion.

You can see the same thing with politicians.

Amazing they trust that much coin in a single truck and don't split it up or have a following car. Good on him, hope he has a great life on a beach somewhere, if the cash is insured that is.

no guns, no shoot out, noone died. If the money is insured, he just pulled off a nice caper with the worst case being 3 years with the money stashed somewhere. Not bad.

So you have respect for a guy stealing 11 million but you don't have respect for a downloader that steals $34,95 by not joining your site?
