Yes but a referee can't call a decision on players claiming something happened for fuck sake.

Video replays or Call challenges by managers like in American Football would deal with cases like this in seconds...

Those 'extra' officials don't really change shit either. Mistakes can still be made.

A video replay during the match solves everything. They do it in MANY other sports. Tennis, Rugby, American Football, loads.

No, but he can discuss with his "assistants" to get their opinion before making a decision. The linesman (although opposite side) should have seen that. However, the ref pointed to the spot immediately and wouldn't even contemplate discussing it

That indeed was a penalty, there was contact there, he fell because of that contact...

Holy shit im nearly speechless, there was contact from Anelka forcing his feet into the keeper, if anything it should have been a foul by Anelka on the keeper. Its just a way of trying to buy a penalty that occasionally works but when not given should lead to a booking.

I saw an article that said Paris in the most perverted city in the world. Having said that, I think this fact also implies that they cheat a lot compared to other countries.

But think about this - if nobody cheated, love would not be fun. I think there has to be some kind of pressure on the partner to love intensely in order to keep his/her partner from cheating. So, what I'm trying to say is this - couples have to work hard on their romance if they want to eliminate cheating. If nobody cheated even though their partner treated them the wrong way, love would be boring. I think the sense of the danger of being cheated on makes couples want to please each other more, so that no cheating happens.

This wasn't something the referee didn't see, or the linesman, they just didn't want to see it.

It was clear a couple of months ago when FIFA decided that AFTER nine months of qualifying, and only one game remaining, that they were going to seed the teams, ensuring France, Portugal and Russia would not play each other, that something was up...this result will just add more fuel to the fire!

I hope France goes 0-3 in group stage and goes home!

Tournaments are engineered so that the big teams do well with/without help from the officials. I'm sure it's always been the same but these days with all the coverage on TV it stands out all the more.

Every year for about 4 years in a row, my team (celtic) was getting robbed every time with ridiculous decisions. Why no video replays when it works so well in other sports?? For the reason you said above, then they can't get away with what they do now...
