Money is not money no matter where it comes from. I wouldn't want to make profit from the deaths of others, for example. Nor would I want to make money off of slavery or abuse. My immediate family knows, as for my cousins spouses, 2nd cousins, etc. no idea... When anyone asks what I do for work I don't go beyond "I shoot video" unless they pry. I hate having to answer people's porn questions. We kept my grandparents in the dark til they passed.

that is a pretty simplistic view of things.... often things should be on a "need to know" basis, if you are doing work for a mainstream company, is it necessary to tell them that you also run adult websites? if it serves no purpose to tell them, than why tell them that... same goes for an elderly parent or grandparent, if you do mainstream and adult work on the internet, why is it necessary to spell out all the details of every facet of your work?

sure, being honest is important, but that doesn't mean you need to tell them everything, if they ask outright then sure, don't lie, but if they don't ask then there is no need to detail all facets of your online work
