Running Parallels on MAC... XP or Windows 7?
Do most of the windows based software work on Windows 7? Or should I install XP to be safe?
Thanks |

I have a 7 installation on one of the new macbooks. It doesn't get internet and the network doesn't work. When you do make the installation, Parallels even calls it an "experimental" install.
But, to be fair I have not installed parallels tools on the installation which supposedly fixes those problems. That and I have not spent more than five minutes in that virtual environment to see what the problem is yet. I'm by no means saying don't do it. Definitely go with 7 over XP, just make sure you do the install correctly and install parallel tools as well.

I would stay on XP for a while. Seems that whenever a new OS is released, takes a while to clear up all the bugs. Also don't forget that software companies also need to catch up with there updates and patches.
