How Many Dirty Tricks-of-the-Trade can we Identify on this Thread?

Hi Guyz and Dollz,

We are building an adult portal site which will encompass a wide range of adult interests.

We'll be signing affiliate deals with program sponsors of all shapes and sizes.

Of GREAT IMPORTANCE to us is to deal only with the "Good Guys" in the industry. Companies that "play by the rules" and offer a good product at a fair price.

This is not just limited to us getting paid the right amount and on time -- although those things are pretty high on the list -- it's also about dealing with companies that 'shoot straight' with the customer. No game playing with re-bills for example.

I think it would be very helpful if there were a master list of the Dirty Tricks that goes on in this biz FROM ALL ANGLES. Sponsors, webmasters, vendors and customers.

Here are some categories off the top of my head:

BILLING Dirty Tricks

TRAFFIC Dirty Tricks

PAYOUT Dirty Tricks

BOGUS SIGN UP Dirty Tricks

ACCOUNTING Dirty Tricks

SPYWARE, ADWARE, POP-UP, MALWARE Dirty Tricks

When describing a particular Dirty Trick please be as specific as possible. I would ask that you assume that people reading this are total newbies and include the most obvious ones. Certainly make sure to tell us about the more sneaky convoluted scams as well.

I'm not necessarily asking for specific company names. I suspect that if any names are mentioned then this thread will get side-tracked real fast.

Kindly take a moment to share your thoughts on the subject.

If anyone knows a resource that covers this, please post it.
Thanx in advance.

BTW: If you ARE one of the good guys, please SPAM ME at infinitylimitedmarketing @ gmail.com. Make sure to put GFY somewhere in the subject.

Neil

There are some sites that make it really hard to cancel your sign up to. I've read numerous member's forums where people have requested information on canceling with zero reply.

Sites that deliver 0 content but have a great tour. The biggest example I can think of is http://hotcollegegirlnextdoor.com, it's definitely the worst site I've ever reviewed. 6 videos in the member's section and if I remember correctly, none of the ones you see in the tour are given.

Silver/Gold or Basic/Advanced memberships some sites have. It's a stupid system and exists purely to overcharge people for their content.

As a reviewer, there are lots of things you find that really disgust you and give a site generally poorer rating. Though one of the most heartbreaking are those that have tours much better than their site content. I really do feel for the guy who doesn't read a review first and gets stuck with a shit site and never wants to buy porn again.

Pre checked cross sales is one that really annoys the surfer.

Arnox,

I agree that the sites that deliberately make it hard to cancel are a blight on our industry. Your post got me thinking and as a result I have 'fine tuned' my project to deal with this issue -- among other things as well.

Thanx to to all of you that have contacted me privately. I apologize for being a bit vague, but I assure you that once you see what I'm building, you'll understand why it's necessary.

Keep an eye on my signature for other GFY threads related to this project. Some of you may find my EMAIL thread very interesting.

So????? Who knows all the tricks? And is willing to expose them????
