Winter overcoats?

Okay, I admit it. When it comes to foul weather gear I am set as long as I am riding a motorcycle, but when it comes to dressing up, I am pretty much screwed. So, I come to GFY for fashion advice.

I need a nice looking overcoat to wear with suits when it is raining. Yeah, it is raining here for once. I know some of you that live where it rains and snows must have some good advice.

What is a good store to find a nice one?

Bloomingdales Nordstorms , Saks will have some nice ones for wearing over a suit and such I got one few years ago by Kenneth Cole it is lightweight and good for formal attire

For regular day to day I have a peacoat that I got from a navy surplus store it is the warmest thing I have ever bought and it took me long time to find a authentic one

I have a leather duster for "everyday" wear. Thanks for the tips. Guess I will have to drive over to the mall today.

A jacket is not an overcoat. Guess I should specify . . . . full length . . . so a suit is not screwed up by rain.

I think I need it longer. For some reason, when it rains it gets windy. I took the dog out for a walk this A.M. and the lower half of my Levi's got wet.

That will not be acceptable tonight.

Isn't Abercrombie & Fitch a "youth" store? Nothing in there fits me. It all seems to be made for the HS and college kids.

I need it for tonight, so ebay is probably not an option. I will have to go to the mall. All those I found on Google were for chicks, or white.

you can probably find a decent priced london fog trenchcoat at the mall. a trench is a good way to go, they are classy, designed for the rain, full length, and have a zip out lining for warmth. perfect for this l.a. rain/winter weather.

J Crew or Banana Republic would be your best mall type stores.

I decided to hit up my buddy in the garment district, where I get all my suits. Found the perfect overcoat. In fact, was so perfect I bought two. One black, one gray. Saved a couple grand in th eprocess.

Would not go with the suit I am wearing. However, as I told goodgirl on the way out, the best way to end this rain is for me to ge the overcoat so I did not need it.

Sure enough, sun broke through.
