First off Id like to say Im not ripping movies or anything. I have a gun safe client that has some promo videos hed like on his site.
Ive encoded a ton of video but i have never done it from dvd. So I have these vob files. Who here can point me in the direction I need to take to 'rip' this dvd to a format i can use. I havent tried anything so the simplest thing may work. I have sorenson for encoding... Will it do it for me? Do I need something else? Please inform the ignorant...

You can use xilosoft and rip into different formats, it will encode off the dvd.
Not the best but SUPER simple IF you have VOB files already ffmpeg can handle those as well, i couldent tell you how though as our video guy takes care of all that. |

I have found MediaCoder (also free) to be much easier to use than SUPER. It does rip/encode VOB
