anyone notice similar pattern with ccbill past 3 days?

Greetings friends, just wanted to share a repeated observation regarding ccbill vs. other processors.

I will just present the data and let others chime in.

sunday- ccbill join form hits total 19
submission pecentage 42%
(8 sign ups ccbill only) non ccbill processors sign ups-zero

monday- ccbill join form hits total 22
submission percentage 4.5%
(1 sign up ccbill only) ** Had 4 additional sign ups by non ccbill processors**

tuesday- ccbill join form hits so far 8 (1:00 pm est.)
submission percentage 37.5%
(3 sign ups ccbill only) non ccbill processors zero sign ups

What I have observed on many occasions over the years is a very predictable pattern.
There are days where ccbill sales are solid one day, then the very next day ccbill sales drop to almost nothing!

However back up processors who are normally flat have a flurry of activity on that very day where ccbill drops to nothing!

Also during this flurry of activity join form hits stay very high for ccbill...

Then the day after ccbill goes flat, CCbill returns to solid sales and secondary processors return to being flat.

I have watched this many times and wonder if others have noticed a similar trend.

Normally when you post a thread regarding inconsistencies, a rep from ccbill will ask for your account # to investigate, and they always say nothing wrong.

I don't think this is evidence to prove anything malicious but it is a bit disappointing to see this over and over, and have the same public relations script read to other webmasters who have seen this regarding scrubbing.

My own analysis tells me that on certain undetermined days, they fully turn up the scrub dial. Love to hear other thoughts.

you need like 100x more signups to see a pattern I guess

You don't have nearly enough data to back up what you think you are seeing. If you had 100,000 hits to that page a day and 50,000 sign ups a day you still would not have enough data. All other factors including your source of traffic, the ability of your customers to join (credit cards, funds available etc), and the INTEREST from your customers to join would all have to be known and be equal before you could even begin to see a pattern, and then properly act on it. If you make a drastic move based on the info you have provided so far you would only be guessing on what you think is happening, and not on what is actually happening.

This is a REAL thread!
SwirlsGirls, thanks for confirming my internal thoughts I've been having over the past few months. I've also been noticing this same identical pattern... And likewise: Sunday was a good day for me... But the following monday was horrible...
I don't have 100x signsups daily but I believe numerous webmasters noticing the same pattern cause for concern...
Actually, I did my own lil ol investigation and entered my Credit Card info onto my signups page and my card got declined. Well, it's a good card with funds on it. Same card they wire me my dough with. I did some research and read that some banks blacklists CCBill? Kinda confusing...

What I'm gonna do is get a secondary CC processor. Need to pickup sales when CCBill drops them... Swirls, how do I go about doing that?

Thank you playboy for confirming what I already knew! I know you don't need 1000 sign ups a day or 50,000 form hits to see a pattern like this! Any webmaster who monitors their stats is well within their right to observe a bizarre pattern and post about it.

I have observed this for years. I have always felt like we could do better with someone like netbilling who allows you to set your own scrubbing, however getting set up with a company like that is difficult unless you have 20,000 a month in sales.

I remember them telling me a while back to get your ccbill sales up to 20,000 a month and we can do business! I was like If ccbill didn't scrub so hard and decline so much maybe I could get my ccbill sales up! Go Figure

The reason I posted the percentage numbers is because if you analyze stuff like that then the stats pretty much let the cat out of the bag. 42% submissions one day, next day 4% submissions on same traffic while other processors have a flurry of signups and ccbill is null.

Then next day ccbill submission % is back to where it normally is, while other backup processors are flat.

I have also read similar threads over the years and the outcome is the same someone, comes in from ccbill asks for your id# and assures you that they would never do anything to reject sales.

So if its not intentional then it could be a glitch. Whatever it is it is a real phenomenon that many have observed.

42% submissions one day, next day 4% submissions on same traffic

Wow, it is not only me! I've pinged ccbill a few time over the last two months about this exact same issue.

I am sure you have Beerbar, and let me guess you are being verbally assured that there is nothing wrong here all systems go!

I know somethings are pointless to pursue but at least coming to GFY you can feel comfortable knowing that you are not alone and others are experiencing the same nonsense!

Thus that was the main point of the post, to get an idea of how many are seeing this trend

50,000 signups/day or over 18 million signups/year isn't enough to spot a trend? How many do you need?

You can't live without cascading these days...there are days like you mention, those days you will see a lot more sales on your backup billers. Thats the only thing you can really do. And you can set up cascading easily within your ccbill admin...to segpay, epoch or any other biller you add manually.

Thx for that tidbit of info... I've heard the phrase 'cascading' thrown around for some years...

ccbill needs that iraqi general right now as their spokesman. nothing is wrong everything you think is happening or an issue is just your imagination no worries people keep the traffic flowing.

When we had low sales we saw the same patterns all the time (just ask Corvette ;)) .. with a high daily volume the pattern gets pretty stabile.. even the so called xmas slowdown that sponsors with a shave option tells you about does not happen

ccbill is sucking way way way bad for me in last 10 days.. One week 1:1900 consistently. Another week with 1.5 times more traffic and 1:9100. CCBill is weird for sure.

60 to 100 signups per day should be sufficient (minimum) to analyze with quite good confidence. At least statisticians would tell you so.

That's fantastc. You send your homies with all those sales and this thread can determine.

I've noticed massive declines the past 10 days and will get secondary processing up asap.
