It could be boring, but once I saw a lecture on TV about the bad effects of smoking cigarettes and it was kind of made to be more exciting.

The lecturer talked about how a pregnant woman that smoked too many cigarettes gave birth to a child whose water in the placenta was dark and black because of nicotine in her body. The descriptions were vivid and painted a non-boring picture in the mind. He also talked about how smoking children grow up to be much less tall, or they don't get taller at all. In an experiment of baby sheep that smoked cigarretes, they never grew up to be taller.

What You said is a different case and understandable, but talking with common sense about drinking etc, it sounds to me no much different then a classical conservative trying to handle Your life.

i don't smoke btw.

The crazy thing is that some families dont smoke and some children dont think about it until they watch something on tele saying this is bad for you, irreverse psychology. It could actually start our young wanting to smoke and drink.

No Problem for me, they can do what ever they want when they became 18 as long as they know where to stop or balance it.
