Need your feedback on this new header graphic...

I've listened to a lot of people's criticism regarding the design of GhettoThugs. I'm just working on some concepts at the moment. Is this one quite a bit better than my old one? What is your opinion?

Thanks to Harvey from FDSign for doing the logo graphic.

Here's the old one:

Looks ok.

My criticisms would be:

Fill in the tiny little open spaces between some of the lettering curves with the background gold, to make it appear more solid. Those little gaps aren't really hurting anything, but they aren't helping either.

The lettering is ok, but maybe not the best. At first glance, without really looking hard at it, it looks like "Ghetto Things".

The subtitle seems like an afterthought. All the work went into the bling, and then there's that plain subtitle.

It needs some sort of a point of reference, or grounding. It's just floating there in space. Maybe a solid backing, or even a shadow would help bring it more in to reality. (which might also help with the tiny gaps in the lettering).

The internal bling seems a little over contrasty & sharp, but the "sparkles" or "glints" seem dull. There's also some jaggy edges that should be cleaned up.

Added a dropshadow to the whole thing and did a subtle inner bevel on the Fine Black Men text. I think it looks a little better.

Actually pretty spot on with what I initially thought. You just explained it much better

Also, the background makes it look like they are brazilian thugs

I agree, include the colors from the black nationalist flag.

Ahhhhhhahahaha. You mean the colors look Brazilian? Or you think the whole graffiti theme all together is Brazilian?

obviously just the yellow and green... it gives me the initial impression.... yes i see the whole graffiti art, but like most designs and surfers, they begin with the top left hand side and work diagonally down. Its what I first feel when i see it.

let's see it on a black background without the distracting and clashing colors of the graffiti
