as you said you aren't a programmer.

if you were you would realize
that it says quite a bit more than that.

he's looking for a senior programmer / developer.

someone that could easily get over $100k US in many companies.

it wasn't sarcasm, it was a "good luck" cuz yur gonna need it.

I do not consider this a senior position, our senior programmers is coding php, C, perl and assembler, currently we do not need things this advanced

A couple of years experience and an eye for details with a creative mind will do very well with us

I do a lot of perl, php, C#, mssql and mysql programming as a contractor. I work with Windows and Linux servers too. Not sure why you must have the person in Tampa, that is going to limit who you get and probably cost you much more than a remote contractor. I have to agree, that the programmer you are seeking would be a senior programmer. You will not find some kid with these skills who will work for rock bottom wages.

Yeah, I have read on this board about the horror stories that some people have with remote contractors, but there are many more happy stories than sad ones. Keep in mind that a deals go bad when there is poor communications, lack of detailed requirements, ambiguous and vague directions, and of course when the pay is too low or when the contractor feels that they are being unfairly treated.

There are systems like elance that you can work through that ensures that everything is fair and nobody get ripped off. They have an escrow system that really helps to ensure that payment is made for work performed.

Not to be an ass or anything.... But I can do all of those things and that is why I don't work for someone else... Why, when I can make 100% of the money myself?

Anyways.. Good luck.. There is always a sucker that just wants a paycheck... even here at GFY!

I'm not looking for a contract coder, I'm looking for several full or part time employees, the project is our business.

We have in the past outsourced coding as well as having coding done in-house, we also have multiple remote location employees. I recommend all 3 options for different scenarios

so u knew that gossip but didnt know he had to move out of his house?

i've done 4 redesigns of that crappy 10 year old site in the last 2 years. the last one took 3 months and 150 hours. none approved.

he averaged 1 new model a month last year. the firing wasnt because of my work. it was because he didnt do any work for a year and now can't afford his very overdue paycheck to me.

Matt's interests have changed. he no longer wants to be in porn and is moving on to other things (surfing, drumming and i guess sleeping in a tent on the beach).

if he is dirtying my name then i'd be happy to air it out in a public or private forum. i've got 4 years of emails backing up what i've been doing. and many happy customers.

no - i have never had any contact with Matt. i heard this from somebody on the content side of the business that he had gotten rid of his programmer.

nothing wrong with Matt's site, he was one of the pioneers, should have made enough money to retire rich unless he blew his money, just didn't have the drive to keep up with all the other sites that came along shooting the same type of content and the same models.

in porn u have to adapt (constantly) or perish.

Matt is one of the pioneers of porn. he just wasn't interested in the constant battle to keep up with the industry.

he did the same thing for 10 years. bring in fresh chicks, shoot them, post them. 10 years ago his site was rare and made a lot of money. now there are hundreds of sites posting never-seen-chicks that update more, have hotter models, better design, more hardcore and more value. all things i hounded him to change for years.

he refused to adapt. Darwin has spoken.

Matt is a great guy (especially if he finds the money to pay me) and he is on to another life. A common tale these days in our industry.

this should probably go in another thread but hopefully they like the bumps lol
