Renting Movies On Itune

Has anyone done this? When you buy a movie, it downloads to your computer and you can watch it whenever. But how does the rent thing work? Does it stream? Or does it download a copy that won't play after a certain number of days?

You have thirty (30) days after downloading a movie to begin viewing. Once you begin viewing, you have twenty-four (24) hours to view the movie (the “Viewing Period”). You may view the movie an unlimited number of times during the Viewing Period. Movies are not viewable after the thirty (30) day period. Stopping, pausing or restarting a movie does not extend the available time for viewing.

Thanks. I assume that you will have to delete the file after it expires, right?

Can't speak for itunes, but with Amazon the files stays on your computer. You just can't watch it again without renting it again. I stream Amazon movies from the PC to the XBOX 360. I like Amazon because they've always got deals going on. Most of the movies I rent I pay between $1-$3.

yup I watch movies from amazon all the time that way too and love it. also you are right about the good deals, it seems that movies are cheaper to rent on weekends at amazon

I buy all my MP3's from amazon too either one at a time or whole cd's. I sometimes get whole cd's for $5 which is a great deal.

I have never rented a movie from iTunes. I love Netflix on Xbox360, watch all the movies I want instantly.

You don't have to delete it, I delete after the 24hrs are up because it just sits there and takes up space on my harddrive
