IMO, I would try to create a bunch of micro-niche sites and SEO the hell out of them. Spend the money on some good scripts and get some links and traffic trades setup. Might take a month to get up and going, but you should be able to pull in $3k a month in about 3 months or so

Do not invest. Work on a few blogs, keep costs minimal. See what works for you on a small scale, then use that $3k to expand.

If you just blow it on a market you don't know shit about, that money will go down the gutter.
