We Are The World vs We Are The World 25

I honestly wasn't even sure that I wanted to hear or see this. I thought the original was perfection, and was afraid they would destroy it.

Some parts I am not crazy about, but overall, it did not totally suck. I loved that they included MJ in it, no one could have sang his part and pulled it off. Celine Dieon did much better with Cyndi Lauper's part than I could have ever imagined.

Jennifer Hudson, Pink, Orianthi, Barbra Streisand, and Fergie were good. The The fail parts for me were the auto tune synthetic sounds, most of the rap, Jamie Foxx, and Wyclef sounding like a dying chicken.

Perhaps it's nostalgia on my part, but the original seemed to really have a feeling and sincerity to it. I didn't get that from the re-make. It seemed more like 80-some people fighting for attention than one cohesive unit.

It wasn't horrible, but I do wish they would have left the original alone, and written something else.

Anyone actually like the remake better?

remake blows - even the MJ part. If he was alive he'd probably be in Haiti looking for kids to molest!

those were the days, I remember the original well, I also was part of the chain in Chicago for this when I was 13 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hands_Across_America the original had talent the new version has a few people that can sing unfortunately surrounded by the majority that can't which is a good indicator of today's music, adding rappers on autotune is a disgrace, kinda like if you remake "It's A Wonderful Life" some classics are better left untouched as you won't do them justice.
