Has anyone ever used one of those kneeling chairs?

I think sitting at the computer all day is messing with my back. A friend who works in IT told me to get one of these http://www.bizrate.com/office-chairs/kneeling-chair/

a kneeling chair. He says it basically forces you to sit with good posture and they are good for your back.

Any input?

Tried it a few months, but always found that I would just crumble my back after awhile and afterwards feeling really awful. The key overall is to get up and walk a bit every now and then.

they're crazy comfy at first... but your back (if it's not in shape/bad posture) will HATE you

I had one in the 90's. Stick with a nice leather chair.

That is what a friend told me. Maybe what I need to do is set a timer and get out of the chair once an hour and do a few minutes of back stretches and exercises.

Have one in the appt where I moved at the start of the year, tried it, but I can't spend more than 10 minutes on it and loose the feel of my legs

What really somehow works (and looks even more gay) is the big gym ball, brother has to use it, to fix his back and it really somehow forces you to sit the right way.

As for me the back pain is only a matter of exercise, if I exercise regularly (meaning the gym and stretching yourself time from time), there's no back pain, if I don't exercise it gets painful.

I could only manage about 30 mins on one a few years ago where I used to work. Didn't feel right at all. Get tangled up trying to get off them aswell

nada chair

try the nada chair. Much better than the kneeling chair- cheaper and more versatile, too. Even if you use it periodically during the day, you will see a big difference.
