Hey,

Cop-Cms is a digital fingerprinting system that has been rolled out to the Adult Gay Industry and is gaining pace very quickly.

So far 5 Tube sites including gayforit.com, boyztube.com, monstercocktube.com, jerkyourtube.com and itsallgay.com have joined the filtering program.

Studios currently uploading their libraries of films to the fingerprint database include Falcon, Blakemason, Homoactive and so forth. They upload using a application installed on their local machine meaning only the fingerprints are sent to us saving alot of time and meaning a catalgue of 500 films can be done very quickly.

This technology will be made available to the rest of the adult market once we have completed the gay sector.

FURB, we've done more to curb the use of copyright material in the last 4 weeks that the whole industry has done in 5 years. Just because it's the tube sites putting the solution forwards doesn't make it any less a good idea. Now kindly fuck off unless you have something decent to post.

Digital fingerprinting is a very good idea, I've been waiting for a long time for someone to implement it in adult. Going to try it no matter who is it coming from - anyway, you're sending only fingerprints, not full length videos so there's nothing to loose.

From a technical point of view, I don't see how this system can work. I assume the digital fingerprint is some kind of checksum?

Unless you have some sort of video frame comparison engine working on BOTH ends (your end AND the tube site end, which I doubt because of how much cpu power this would take for each video). this will just not work. If the file is re-encoded (for instance, from the source grabbed from the members area into flv or mp4 as most tubes do) or molested in any way (even if the video is 1 byte shorter), the checksum will change.

Of course, correct me if i'm wrong here and you are not using checksums or frame comparison to do this...

What's to say a checksum isn't a summary of the video? ID 1 frame every second with certain variables (brightness / hue / highlights over a 5x5 grid of the video).

When a new video is processed / uploaded on the sites, you run a quick check against the summary checksum hash, and bingo.

Maybe I misused the word 'checksum' in my post.
Imagine you divide a frame up into a 3x3 grid, and from each cell take an average hue, brightness, R/G/B channel saturation average, and store that information. Do that for every N frames of a video, and you'll have a unique fingerprint for each video.

When you're processing a video, you could easily make comparisons within a tolerance of X, and you've got the solution there.

heh, I wouldn't say making a tolerance based on colors like that would be an easy thing. I suppose that could work but room for error and again quite a bit of resources on both ends scanning every movie like that.

Are you kidding? You could knock up a basic detection system like that in no time, even with PHP. Have the code in something compilable and it'd be incredibly quick... seriously..
