What U.S. Banks accept Adult Businesses? - GoFuckYourself.com

I basically got turned down at Citibank (she will call me on Friday), and the lady grilled me like a CSI interrogation. She asked me all kind of questions since the bank is liable. She needed details...and would need to know what my business is. What in detail I sell, how it is displayed, what domains, etc. She said that Citibank is conservative and that because of the banking fallout they do not want any scandals. Also they do not accept any cash only businesses. WTF its green its money what business is it how it is made.

Anyways what are some of the banks you guys are using...need to get an account opened ASAP. Had no idea I would run into something like this in the year 2010.

I just walked in asked to open a business account....was not looking to give any info. I tried to go with internet sales, Ebay, handball t-shirts. She must have seen me trying to look up her skirt.

Just like talking to the police, its never advisable to give up too much information, as long as everything is in general terms, and the LLC isn't adult related, things should go along smoothly with the banker.

for sure an option, I have about 5 banks in walking distance including another citibank so I might just walk in. This manager must have been a mind reader she knew right away it was adult related. The company I work for does a lot of business with these people so I found it weird that they would even give me a hard time. She was like check Chase and bank of America to see what their policies are....but be honest because they can close your account.

I have banked with Wells Fargo personally for 15 years. I have had a business account with them for 10 years. I have run over a million dollars through this particular account. I have never told anyone there I am in "adult"; I simply say I am a website designer. However when I recently applied for a business credit card, they turned me down due to the nature of my business, despite acknowledging the impressive history. I do not know how they discovered it, but I do deposit a lot of affiliate checks from other adult companies with less discrete names than CCBill. So if anybody does know of a bank that will treat my legal business as any other legal business, I would appreciate hearing it.

I bet no bank wants to openly say its okay, so basically you need to hide behind a mainstream business. I have a website promoting handball for 10 years...so maybe I will just tell them I plan on producing and selling sportswear or balls. I definitely want a business credit card...how else am I going to take my wife out for Lobsters...ooops I meant clients.

At my main bank/credit union they never pulled out a flashlight and whisked me off into the dark room when I opened up my account(s) there, moving from a mainstream bank.

I did get a few questions, but it was not an interrogation. More like them being nosey. So in those cases, I bust out the internet jive turkey lingo and watch their eyes glaze over and that typically will stop any more questions.

I find that once you get into that internet jive turkey, and talking about shit they are clueless on, that tends to end all the getting personal business and has them back to typing on their keyboards.

Internet marketing, website consulting, whatever you like to snowball them with. Once you get to talking about some of the money making things required, they typically will stop asking you about things they do not understand.

I HAVE however run into more grief at secondary credit unions where they claim because of 9-11 they have to get out the anal probe with holding wires, and wanting to know what they are for, and from, and so on when you initially get started.

No she mentioned that they have other business besides Adult they stay clear of, including cash businesses like laundry mats, car washes, etc. I guess she is trying to say that a cash biz can also be an outlet for money laundering from drugs, gambling, etc.
