Why do the majority of Tube Sites hide the url of their logo?
I notice that most tube sites do not display their logos as
<img src="..."></img> but rather something like div <div id="logo"></div> where "logo" is an css element having its background image set with the logo url Just wondering is there a reason for this? Any SEO benefits?

CSS loads faster... My guess is with that much traffic you want your site optimized to be as efficient as possible.
And it could just be the way most of the scripts are set up. |

I doubt there is anything truly sinister going on. Either script is set up that way, or designer does it that way when working on the CSS/HTML coding part of the pie. |

anytime i do a design of my own, i always load the image as a background in a div. force of habit.
i don't know if it's the technically superior way, but it just feels right, seems cleaner and easier to work with. but i'm no pro designer. |
