...my paranoia would never let me buy digital storage off of ebay. I would feel much better just buying HD's new.

Totally with you. New HDs go bad too often to be extra risky with a used one.

Not worth a damn unless you can buy 500+ of them at that price!

? You're not familiar with ebay auctions? There's around a minute to go and the price is at $15.50, it will probably go up in the last few seconds...

The auction actually started at $0.99

You're right - I've never used ebay before. Will be interested to watch the last seconds.

Bet the seller was disappointed, $0.99 auctions don't necessarily go past a price that you'd be happy with (as a seller). You pay less in listing fees to start at $0.99 but it can backfire and leave you with a low winning bid. I've picked up some items for exactly $0.99 before, I was the only bid!

wow nice!

Seems like seller should have listed higher. But according to others here, maybe lucky to even sell the thing. Seemed like a steal to me, but everyone here thought otherwise, so i'm not so sure anymore. Either way, there's more to hd's and ebay than i thought.

Never buy harddisks on ebay, if you are not 100% sure the item is 101% ok!
The data on the drive is your bussines, time and money.

I wouldn,t save a few bucks on the wrong end :-)

Seller info
flickerflicker ( 1 )

Only one feedback. Never buy from those with small feedback count. Also, I need a 500gb, or so storage, but do not want to buy it from ebay as I bought two USB keys some time ago and they worked only some months. I am going to UK next month, there will be good place to search for great deals.

The hardcore guys run RAID arrays with multiple 2TB drives. On one storage forum I'm on some guys have 50TB or more storage (which requires 26+ drives) just for "stuff"
