I have one of these...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-797-_-Product and I'm very pleased with it. I do 3d animation, so I needed a desktop in laptop package when I need to visit clients. It's 1.7ghz, so it doesn't even come close to my Overclocked desktop machines, but its faster than any laptop that ISN'T an i7.

i have a core i7-920 Extreme laptop... not bad.
the limitation i have found is in the graphics cards available on laptops.
