I'm no expert but I would think it would be standard to have to disclose where and how your earn your money including website names.

I remember when I first got into this stuff in 96. My tax guy and my stock broker both thought it was the best thing ever. Hell, the stock broker even pulled out some nude photos of his girlfriend that he had at work.

I had my 12/13 y.o. son with me and he asked why someone would do that. I did not have an answer to that one.

It doesn't matter what the IRS thinks. It is legal and so long as you declare your income, then you stay legal, too. Unless you're into stuff that could be considered obscene, you're fine. They need to know where your income is coming from. If you say websites, it is their right to know that you actually run websites.

I did have one in 2001 or so. Not in the US but in Europe. And not a simple audit either, but a 30 guy stampede of IRS troops lol. Took them like 7 hours to search my house (we freshly moved in) and could not even find the books, since they didnt get bothered with the 15 boxes full of stuff I didnt open yet. I voluntarily supplied the head with my books when I found them a day or 2 later, since I did not have something to hide.

Well, my tax accountant back than was not fully aware of the nature of my business.
That asshole let important deadlines go wasted completely overwhelmed with just everything. And after I learned that he missed the deadlines he kicked me out lol.

I just went to get the Yellow Pages and seached the biggest tax accountant ad within 100 km, hit them on the phone, explained a little and had a meeting with them in their offices and explained them in detail how I was making the money. The guy I talked to was a partner of the firm and he was really keen to take it. And they took really good care of me.

So, to have an accountant fully aware of the situation is key if the shit hits the fan.
And do not get a village idiot that gets pushed around by the IRS collectors troops, they are no pleasure to deal with.

Are you in the US ? Why would you need to disclose which websites made the money, giving them access to the transaction records from your merchant account should be all they need to see. Its the IRS not the FBI, all they want to account for is your income and if you reported it all, your occupation, website url, etc... is irrelevant.

Can't see any other way to do it. You have to list where the money comes from or it could be drug money or laundered.

For a full audit you have to cross the i's and dot the t's.

The IRS don't do full audits on people by random, they usually have some firm suspicions.
